I found my local quilt shop (Sevenoaks, Kent)

Every quilter can remember their first time - their first time in a quilt shop that is! Mine was yesterday when I went to Puddleducks, in Sevenoaks, Kent (UK). I bought some sensible things in the sale (bias, thread, ribbon), and some black fabric to form the background and sashings of my next planned piecing project: a child's quilt with very bright animal cartoon fabric on a black background. But I also got some curved "Tennessee Waltz" templates that were half price - who knows when I'll be brave enough to use them!

Try it before it gets scary. As a beginner you have a huge advantage, you don't know what is supposed to be hard. Always try everything as soon as you can and before anyone can tell you either way. I've found being tolkd things are easy can be as much of a kiss of death for me.

Love the blog, keep up the good work. Oh and I do remember not only my first time in any quilt shop, but the first time in each quilt shop. It's special isn't it.

I'm very impressed with your quilts. You are doing a great job.
I just learning to quilt. I'm currently working on a 9 block patch hot pad. It's loads of fun

Dear quiltfriend,
My sister is, after an exiting period, finaly pregnant of her first baby. Now I would like to make a bright-colored quilt for her and her baby of patches from all over the world. I try to collect sraps of 12x12 cm (5x5 inch). Do you have a piece of fabric that may be suitable, I would really like to use it!
Many thanks and warm greetings,

I am a new quilter and crafter and blogger after a huge break for family and many kids. I am starting in a small way and now looking for inspiration via blogs. My site (annabelleserendipity.blogspot.com) needs inspiration too. I have a local craft shop which helps. Good luck. Love the blog.
